The Concept of African Alienation

There is a condition that is endemic amongst the Jamaican community, and many of you may have been exposed to this already. The condition is something I like to call African Alienation, characterised by the belief, that being Jamaican is distinct from being African, or worse, that it is an offence to be regarded as of African descent. How is it, that this notion of thought has become so prevalent?
